Today, on the 15th of October, is Blog Action Day.
The idea of this action is to bring up as many bloggers as possible to write about same topic. Last year they discussed the environment issues and this year’s action is about poverty.
There is already quite a few signed up for discussion . You can find them HERE.
Also, one can find few ways to participate . You can write about poverty on your blog, make a video, podcast, spread the word by writing a post like I am doing now or donate.
Already few big voices decided to help in a meaningful way :
- Brian Clark from Copyblogger – Brian is donating $25 for every pledge of $10 or more made at his Blog Action Day post.
- Darren Rowse from Problogger – Darren writes personal post about poverty.
- Social Media Club - video and podcasters are creatively engaging in the topic in Austin, Texas for 24 hours.
As we can see, the web, blogs are getting more visible and powerful to bring the collective voice about important issues to the public.
